Gosh. This video just rubs me the wrong way. I’m not even a fan of K-Pop and I don’t feel like the need to defend it or whatever, but some of what these kids are saying bother me. That kid especially, ranting on and on about how this is Rebecca Black times ten needs to calm down before I smack something while pretending it’s his head.
Just because it’s in a different language from a different culture, doesn’t make it worse than any kind of music you listen to, dammit. And for goodness’ sake, Lady Gaga does not own the copyright to weird clothes and dance moves. She’s not even original, dammit.
I guess I get really judge-y and annoyed when I see white people giggling at Asian languages. What the fuck is your problem?
Ok, maaaaybe I will forgive them for thinking that Koreans were Japanese. I make that mistake too, sometimes.
This has been an irritated rant.
//edit
I just watched the bonus footage and the snipey white teenager actually said “You know what really bugs me? When Asian people bleach their hair blond because it’s really fake.”
*TAKES DEEP BREATH*
*CALMS URGE TO THROW SOMETHING AT WALL*
i watched this video and getting pissed at the first place.
But then i thought, these kids don’t know what they’re talking about, maybe because they’re still kids, or maybe the society they lived in influenced them.
What I dont like was, it might be a big problem if they showed them only a few of many kpop videos, it wasnt right to judge kpop if you only watched several kpop videos.
what i hate the most was just because it’s a song in different language, so you have the rights to judge it.
music is music. Actually I’m tired seeing people said that our generation is fucked up just because the music was not the same music in 80’s. If you think so, go and make good music, please. rather than judging which music is good which is bad.
other than that. maybe im listening to kpop so that i understand the music, unlike people out there who already judge the music before listening to it :D
that’s okay, kids. there’s still time to grow up!
